Wedding Photography | Newstead Brisbane | Chani + Lindsay

Boots Photography had the awesome pleasure of photographing Chani + Lindsay's wedding a few weeks back. It was the most interesting wedding Ive photographed - non-traditional in every way, TV film crew in tow and then Lindsay our eccentric groom - he is a real estate salesman after all - but what can I say other than it was loads of fun and they are a lovely down to earth couple and I was glad to be apart of their wedding.


Chani first rang me a couple of months before the wedding and we hit it off over the phone, so much that she booked me on the spot to photograph their wedding. About a month later I got a phone call to tell me they had been nominated for a Wedding TV Show for the Channel 7 Network and would I still be their photographer - I'm game, so naturally I said yes. Then we found out they were selected as one of the couples for the Wedding TV Show to air on Channel 7 later this year.


Chani & Lindsay operate their own real estate agency www.moveonline.com.au in Banyo (Brisbane) and both being a mature couple that live together with children from previous relationships, they didn't want the kerfuffle of a traditional wedding - they simply wanted to tie the knot their way and celebrate at their favourite haunt, The Breakfast Creek Hotel with great food, beers off the keg and with their family and friends.


The day came for the wedding and it was indeed different to any other wedding - Chani & Lindsay both went to the hair salon together where both the photos and filming for the day began.  We then wandered up to the Sofitel Hotel Brisbane where they both got ready together and then photos continued in the beautiful hotel lobby where Chani & Lindsay were given champagne and a delicious platter to nibble on.  


We then jumped on board the bus to head to Newstead Park for the ceremony - again this was not like any other bus trip Ive been on - its was hysterical trying to stand up in the bus not holding on and trying to take photos, and naturally Chani & Lindsay were getting excited to see their family and friends as we drove through Fortitude Valley. The ceremony was short but meaningful and full of laughs, then some family photos before the guests boarded the bus with destination Breakfast Creek Hotel.


We grabbed some photos as we made the nice walk over to the Breakfast Creek Hotel where Chani & Lindsay had a chance to enjoy the first moments as man and wife. Then the party began .... with live music, great atmosphere and speeches ... oh and Lindsay's hilarious speech but you will have to wait for the TV Show to air to see that ... all I can say is I left the wedding with "Im a lucky man" sounding in my head and picturing Lindsay's dance to that.
